Allie Melvin Smith, 73, better known as “Wildman” by family and friends, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 24th, 2021 at his Cow Creek residence.
Allie was born on November 15th, 1947 at Stirrat, WV the son of Emma Jeffrey Smith of Cow Creek and the late Ora Smith. He was also preceded in death by a son, William Melvin and sister Brenda Vinson.
Allie formerly worked for WV Department of Highways and W-P Coal Company. Allie enjoyed hunting and loved going to church at Pine Creek Freewill Baptist Church where he attended.
Those left to cherish his memories includes his wife, Linda of fifty-one years; one son, Joey (Melanie) Smith; one daughter, Vanessa (Bill) Perry all of Cow Creek, WV; his mother, Emma Smith; three sisters, Emma Lou Messer; Sharon (Larry) Ramey, and Judy Adams all of Cow Creek, WV; three brothers, Lonzo (Connie) Smith of Cow Creek, WV, Mike Smith of Christian, WV, Rick (Sharon) Smith of Austin, TX; three grandchildren, Aaron (Brittany) Smith of Whitman, WV, Steven (Tiffany) Smith of Ohio, and Shane Perry of Cow Creek, WV; two great grandsons, Jesse and Jensen Smith of Whitman, WV. He also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews who loved him deeply, along with other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Friday, April 30th, 2021 at Collins Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor John Hatfield and Pastor Jeremy Tomblin officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens in Godby, WV. A visitation will be held two hours prior to the service.
