Archie Earnest Gillman, Sr. 70 of Omar, West Virginia, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Sunday January 5, 2025, at Logan Regional Medical Center in Logan, WV.
He enjoyed going to church, spending time with his family and church family; and was the neighborhood papaw to all kids.
He was born September 15, 1954, in Logan, West Virginia to the late Charlie and Bertha Gillman. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his oldest daughter, Anna Marie Gillman and daughter, Christina Frye; his brothers, William White, Mack White, and his best friend and brother, Reather Gillman; and his sister Thelma White.
Those left to cherish his loving memories includes his wife of thirty-three years, Janet Gillman; daughters, Tammy Fleming of Switzer WV, Tasha (Quentin Matthews) of Dunlow, WV; sons, Archie Gillman Jr. of Omar WV and Charlie Frye of Chicago, and John (Buddy) Lunsford of Charleston, WV; two men whom he cherished as his own sons, Shane Dennison of Omar WV, and Michael Thomas of Sarah Ann,WV; brothers, Charles (Toni) White and Mitchell (Barrie) Gillman; sisters, Pearlie Gillman and Pheba (Raymond) Koon; brothers in-law, Samuel (Melinda) Lackey, Wendell Lackey of Columbus Ohio, Henry (Beartha) Lackey of Beverly Hills, FL; sisters in-law, Sue Mattox, Janice Craddock and Della Chapman; grandchildren, David (Jasmine) Moss, Kayla (Montana) Farmer, DeeDee (Trapper) Collins, and Amberea (Jacob) Rice; his great grandkids, Jeremy, Brentley, Colton, Kingston, Reece, Sophie, Tristan, Kaylea and one great-great grandson, Karson Collins; special nieces and nephews that he Loved as grandkids, Misty Gillman of Chapmanville WV, Haley (Eric) Walton, Silas, Zaiden, Jediah and Jannie of Oak Hill, WV, Wynona (Brandon) Hairston, Avionnah of Omar, WV, Matt (Denise) Perkins of Omar & Matthew (Alayna) Eisner, Mason of Iowa, Rachel (Brad) Petermann, Naomi and Levi, of Iowa, Charlie (Tellie) Gillman of Micco, WV, CJ (Hannah) Gillman of Sarah Ann WV, and Rashanda (Caitlyn) Bedford of North Carolina ; and some special friends, Benny Hunt, and Junebug Fleming.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 11th, 2025, at Collins Funeral Home Chapel from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm with Pastor Shane Dennison officiating a special service at 4:00 pm.
