Barbara Ann Simpkins

Barbara Ann (Sparks) Simpkins, 61 of Hampden, WV passed away Wednesday, August 7th, 2019 from her home surrounded by her family and friends. Born on December 31st, 1957 at Glen Alum, WV, a daughter of the late Arthur H. and Opal (McCoy) Sparks. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four siblings, Patricia Opal Sparks, Charlotte Sparks, Leonard Sparks, and Maggie Sparks Trepasso. Barbara was a graduate of Gilbert High School. She was a homemaker, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, soon to be great grandmother, sister, and friend. She was of the Church of God faith.

Those left to cherish the memories include her husband of fourty-two years, Tony Simpkins; daughters, Toni Renee (Willie) Mathis and Tamara (Corey) Simpkins; two granddaughters, Alexis Slone and Allie Slone; three grandsons, Caleb Simpkins, Ryan Simpkins, and Nathaniel Chaise (Amanda) Slone, brothers and sisters, Norma (Harold) Cagigas, Arthur Jr. (Melvis) Sparks, Joann Cline, Virginia Braswell, Charles (Linda) Sparks, Donnie (Terry) Sparks, Kathy (Gary) Hatfield, Jackie (Eugene) Vance, Susie (Mickey) Christian, David (Karen) Sparks, and George (Tammy) Sparks. She leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews, followed by many other dear family members and friends whom she loved dearly.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Sunday, August 11th, 2019 at Freedom Full Gospel Assembly House of Prayer with Pastor Diamond Carter and Pastor Lowell Sparks officiating. Burial will follow in Hatfield Family Cemetery at Hampden, WV. Pallbearers will include Chaise Slone, Ryan Simpkins, Ethan Christian, Hunter Cline, Mickey Christian, Garrett Cline, Eugene Vance.
