Betty Lou Anderson of , 89, formerly of Switzer and Barnabus, W.Va., passed away peacefully Saturday, December 5, 2015, after a short illness. Born May 31, 1926, at Dehue, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Melvin Mark Curtis and Mary Malinda "Linda" Curtis. Also preceding her in death were three sons, Robert "Buck" Curtis, James "Pete" Spradlin, and David Spradling. She was a former school bus driver for Logan County BOE. She was an avid fan of game shows and westerns, but her favorite pastime was shopping, especially for shoes. Those left to cherish her memories are two sons: Richard (Marlene) Curtis, and Mark (Donna) Anderson; one sister, Kay (Donnie) Steele, and three daughters-in-law, Ruby Spradlin, Kathy Spradling and Linda Curtis. She had 19 grandchildren: Tammy Tudors, Richard Curtis Jr., Susan Trent, Benjamin Staton, Patricia Mallon, Mark Spradlin, Jimmy Spradlin, Bobbie Spradling, Geoffrey Blankenship, Jack Blankenship, Tommy Glycadgis, Linda Pridemore, David Spradling II, Angela Chambers, Michelle Curtis, Lori Stephenson, Kelli Harmon, Alison Anderson, and Amanda Anderson; numerous great-grandchildren and a few great-great-grandchildren, and special niece and nephew, Brian Steele and Malinda Chaffin. Services will be at noon Thursday, December 10, at Collins Funeral Home with Rev. C.D. Wolford officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Collins Funeral Home at Switzer, W.Va., is in charge of arrangements.
