Brittany Frances (Scaggs) Brooks, 30, of Verdunville, WV gained her heavenly wings on January 18, 2023, from Logan Regional Medical Center in Logan, WV. Our beautiful and brave angel was born on April 2, 1992, in Logan, WV to Ronnie and Debbie (Tomblin) Scaggs of Verdunville. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Lenford Tomblin, Myrtle, and Will Obsorne.
Those left to cherish her memory are her parents, Ronnie and Debbie Scaggs of Verdunville; her husband, Billy Brooks of Verdunville; brother Brandon (Joelle O’Rouke) Scaggs of West Logan; her children, Layney, Colton, Ava, Jessa, and Damion Brooks of Verdunville; her mamaw, Lucille Tomblin of Verdunville; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; and her furbabies, Freya and Conway.
The family of Brittany would like to give a thanks to the ER nurses, Dr. Billy Mullen, and Dr. Marzouk for the special care they gave to her. Also, all the family, friends, and church family that spent countless hours with us at the hospital. May God bless you all.
Brittany was an animal and dog lover; and former volunteer with the Paw Squad of Logan, WV. She was also a loving foster parent through Necco Foster Care and Counseling of Logan. Brittany graduated from Logan High School in 2011.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 22, 2023, from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at Maryetta United Baptist Church at Verdunville, WV.
Funeral services will be held on Noon, Monday, January 23, 2023, also at the church with Pastor Lonnie Gore and Assistant Pastor Barney Goins officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby, WV.
Pallbearers will include Jeremy Tomblin, Dave Lisy, Jr., Frank Lisy, Jeffery Bryant, Dave May, Mike Moss, and Brian May. Honorary pallbearers will include Brandon Scaggs, Ray Bryant, Brian Tomblin, Lenford Lee Tomblin, and Eric Thacker.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Collins Funeral Home Inc. for the funeral expenses.
