Christine Hodges

Ms. Christine “Chris” Hodges of Omar, WV passed away peacefully of natural causes in her sleep at her home in Switzer, WV on July 24, 2018, at the age of 59. Christine is survived by her loving family which includes her (biological) mother Linda Meade of Switzer, WV; her brothers Joe (Hester) Hodges of Verdunville, WV; Ray (Florence “Flossy”) Hodges of La Mirada, CA; George “Cotton” (Joyce “Jackie”) Baxter of Switzer, WV; Paul Meade of Switzer, WV and Michael Meade also of Switzer, WV; her sisters Dreama (Fred) Williams of Orlando, FL; Sherrie L. Baxter of Switzer, WV; Tammy (Steven) Fields of Chauncey, WV; and Jamie Meade of Mt. Gay, WV, as well as a host of nephews, nieces, and great-nephews and nieces. Christine is preceded in death by her adoptive father and biological grandfather Fraley Hodges of Omar WV, her adoptive mother and biological grandmother Georgia Hodges of Omar WV, her sister Terry Lynn Baxter of Omar WV, and bother Terry Hodges also of Omar WV. Christine was born on February 5, 1959, in Logan, WV to George and Linda Baxter. Christine was a graduate of Logan High School in Logan, WV where she worked as a nursing home aide until she resigned due to her failing health. Christine truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; chatting with friends and family, completing word search puzzles, and spending time with her mother, sisters and brothers, and many nephews and nieces.A viewing is scheduled for 6:00pm-8:00 pm on Thursday, July 26, 2018, at Collins Funeral Home in Switzer, WV.
