Danny Glen Herndon, Sr.

Danny Glen Herndon Sr., 80, of Switzer, WV departed this life on Sunday, December 4^th, 2022, at his residence. He was born on June 22^nd, 1942, in Stirrat, WV to the late Roy Andrew Herndon and Ossie Ruth (Powers) Herndon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Donald Brian Herndon; daughter-in-law, Cynthia Lynn Herndon; brothers, Cliff Herndon, William Herndon, Paul Herndon, Roy Herndon, and Harold Herndon; sisters, Flugie Hatfield, Phyllis Adkins, and Gertude Browning; and niece and nephew, Paula and Richard Herndon.

He attended Cornerstone Family Fellowship Church in Whitman, WV.  He was a mine superintendent, electrian, and mine management for many years. He was a life changer; his gift was taking people and giving them an opportunity to succeed in life. He loved to golf, hunt, fish, and ginseng. He was the greatest Husband, Dad, Pawpaw, Poppy, and Pappy. We will all love and miss him tremendously.

Those left to cherish his loving memory includes his loving wife of sixty-one years, Jean (Damron) Herndon of Switzer, WV; sons, Danny Jr. (Julie) Herndon of Colorado, Robert (Nancy) Herndon of South Carolina, Timothy (April) Herndon of South Carolina, Michael (Cindy) Herndon of Switzer, WV, and Christopher (Melissa) Herndon of South Carolina; ten grandchildren, Zachary(Heather), Tiffany, Brandon, Joshua(Julianna), Kia(Nick), Erik(Fallon), Staci(Shane), Brittany, Sean, and Tyler(Nikki); fourteen great-grandchildren, Jace, Bella, Arianna, Becca, Spencer, Madi, Felix, Sawyer, Maddox, Evie, Joshua Jr., Lilly, Luna, and Emrie; one sister, Betty Ramey; his mining buddies, Glenn Fields, Terry Carter, Anthony Cline, Clayton Cline, Joe Davis, Danny Robinette, Brian Rowe, and John Sizemore; and a host of other family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, December 10^th, 2022, at Collins Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Richard Belcher, Pastor Cliff Adkins, and Pastor Wayne Damron officiating.

A visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service.
