Delorse June Lawson, 79, of Whitman, WV, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 11th, 2022, at her residence.
Preceding her was her husband, Simon Lawson, her parents, Bernie and Evelyn Adkins, her great grandparents, Cecil and Ruby Trent, and her brother Bernie Adkins Jr.
June was employed by Logan County Board of Education as a bus driver and trainer for 40 years. She loved every one of her students as one of her own.
June is survived by her daughter, whom she made her home with, Temple Hodges (Bobby) Farley; her two grandsons, B.J. (Ciera) and Jason (Mariah) Farley; sisters, Carolyn Adkins of Huntington, Frankie Maynard of Alabama, Sandra Stapleton of Holden; one brother, Larry Adkins of Omar, six great grandchildren, and her longtime friend Jerald Jarvis, whom she traveled all over the United States with.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, June 16th, 2022, at Collins Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Joseph Vance officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens in Chapmanville, WV. Pallbearers will include her grandsons and friends.
A visitation will begin two hours prior to the funeral service.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Collins Funeral Home Inc. of Switzer, WV.
