Donna Jean Hensley

Donna “Granny” Hensley (Callaway) of Friendly, WV (formally of Chapmanville, WV) departed this life Sunday, December 16, 2018 at Charleston Area Medical Center Memorial Division. She was born June 18, 1955 in Logan, WV and was the daughter of Laden Callaway and Elizabeth Curry (Callaway). She was preceded in death by her husband: Daniel Hensley; son-in-law: Mack Curry; daughter-in-law: Thelma Hensley; father: Laden Callaway; brother: Tommy Callaway.

Those left to love and cherish Donna’s memory, includes her mother: Elizabeth Curry (Callaway), two sons: Daniel “Matewan” (Amanda) Hensley of Logan, WV and Chad (Amanda) Hensley of Chillicothe, Ohio; one daughter: Ladena Curry (Scott Mereith) of Friendly, WV whom Donna resided with: Melissa Farmer (Dana) who was just like a daughter to Granny; three brothers: Harry (Faye) Callaway of Ohio, Danny (Debbie) Callaway of Barnabus, WV, and Mike (Lisa) Callaway of Summersville, WV; three sisters: Anita (Marshall) Crum of Columbia Station, Ohio, Janet (Lee) Clark of Omar, WV, and Linda Blevins of Lexington, S.C.; eight grandchildren: Chad (Talena) Curry, Donica Curry, Devin Hensley, Daniel Hensley Jr., Alex Maynard, Jacob Hensley, Emily Hensley, and Molly Hensley; three great-grandchildren: Gunner Curry, Tanner Curry, and Dean Maynard; and her loving dog: “Gidget” whom she adored.

The family would like to give a tremendous and special thank you for the kind services and thoughtfulness of the nursing staff that they received, it was the most rewarding for our family at CAMC 5th CPICU nursing staff.

Services will be held on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at noon at Collins Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Charlie Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow in Hensley Family Cemetery. Donna will be carried to her final resting place by family and friends. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 from 6:00-9:00PM also at the funeral home chapel.
