Ellen Collins

Ellen (Burgess) Collins, 85 of Godby Heights, WV went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, July 3rd, 2021 at Logan Regional Medical Center. She was born on June 16th, 1936 in Yantus, WV  (now known as West Fork of Harts) to the late Walter and Harriet Burgess. She was a homemaker and worked at Friendship Inn at Chapmanville, WV. She was preceded in death by her husband, Areland Collins; one son, Dale Edward Collins; one sister, Tilda “Sissy” Stollings; and one brother, William “Bill” Eplin.

She was a faithful member of Morning Star Freewill Baptist Church for many, many years.

Those left to cherish her loving memory includes her son, Larry Collins; one daughter-in-law, Katrina Collins; four grandchildren whom she loved and adored, Zachery (Ashlea) Bassham, Brandon Collins, Justin Collins, and Olivia Collins; three sister-in-laws, Virginia “Ginny” Fowler, Carol Sue Moore, and Barbara (Fred) Gore; and a host of special church family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm Wednesday, July 7th, 2021 at Morning Star Freewill Baptist Church at West Fork, WV with Pastor Ronnie Collins and Rev. Dick Workman officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Pecks Mill, WV. A visitation will be held Tuesday, July 6th, 2021 also at the church from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
