Ellen Darlena Hooker, 78 of Omar, WV departed this life surrounded by her loved ones on Wednesday, December 13th, 2023, to be with Jesus. She was born on February 24th, 1945, in Barnabus, WV to the late Clyde and Gertrude (Harmon) Booth. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Hooker; granddaughter, Jessica Sprouse; brothers, Eddie Booth, Allen Booth, and Harvey Booth (Ruth).
She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She exhumed kindness, warmth, gratitude, and especially love. She was humble and all who had the honor to have met her, never forgot her. She was like a lioness protecting her cubs when it came to her daughter and grandchildren. Her best friend was her sister, Dreama Lambert. They were always together and Dreama being the oldest always taking care of her.
Those left to keep her memory alive includes her daughter, Lisa (Hooker) Cooke (Michael); granddaughters, Ashley Sprouse, Katelyn Woods; grandsons, Joshua Sprouse, Thorn Woods, and David Cooke; great granddaughter, Sybella Appleberry; a special niece, Melissa Lambert, who was always there for her; a host of nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly; great nephew, Tyler Lambert, who was near and dear to her heart; a host of other great nieces and nephews that she was blessed with.
She loved Jesus and always prayed that her grandchildren will find God and be with her someday. She had a pure heart and a sense of innocents and wisdom.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, December 18th, 2023, at Highland Memory Gardens in Chapmanville, WV with Pastor Scotty Dingess officiating.
