Ernestine Gill

Ernestine “Matthews” Gill, 81 of Whitman, WV, passed away Friday, February 9, 2018 at Trinity Health Care of Logan, WV.  She was born November 17 1936, in Slagle, WV. The daughter of the late Floyd and Laura Matthews.   Mrs. Gill graduated from Logan High School in 1955. She was a beloved member of First Christian Church, (Disciples of Christ) of Logan, WV. She  retired as secretary of National Mine Services   She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Browning Gill in 2009, and by a sister, Janice Cox of Whitman, WV. She was preceded in death recently by her dear friend, Linda Dingess.  She is survived by her son, Ricky A. Gill of Gibsonville, NC. And a brother, Herman Lee Matthews, of Alma, GA. And by special nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her caregiver, Elizabeth (Libby) Jacobs. Graveside rites will be conducted Monday, February 12, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Highland Memory Gardens in Pecks Mill, WV. By Rev.
