Freda Dean Smith

Freda Lee Smith, 86, of Sarah Ann went home to be with the Lord Thursday, November 24, 2016 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington. Born December 1, 1929 at Grayson, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Ora and Katie Fraley Dean. She’s now Walking the streets of heaven with her beloved husband of 69 years, Albert Smith, her children, Albert Smith Jr., Denny Smith, Freda Bradley, and a very special granddaughter, Patricia Chafin. Freda is now with the one she dedicated and lived her life for, her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Those left behind to cherish her memories include one son, Charles (Christine) Smith of Ethel, four daughters, Carol (Tim) McCauley of Salem, Lois (Eddie) Turner who was by her side throughout her sickness until the moment she departed this life. Kathy Adkins, both of Switzer, and Sonya (Mike) Barker of Monaville, one sister, Darlene (Gerald) McCoy of Indiana, Thirty Grandchildren, twenty four Great-Grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 28, at Collins Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Gary Starr and Rev. Noah Chafin officiating. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Pete Turner, Jinks Adkins, Ricky Bradley, Noah Chafin, Mike Barrett, and Eddie Turner.
