Gary Dale Wilson

Gary Dale Wilson was born on September 9, 1961, in Man, West Virginia. Dale, as he is known to his family, transitioned to heaven on October 11, 2024. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Bennie, and Ethel (nee: Foster) Wilson; brothers, Benny Wilson, Jr and Larry Wilson; sister, Rozelyn Wilson and niece, Tasha Wilson Lester. Gary is survived by his brothers, Dana Wilson of Lorado, WV and Roger (Tonie) Wilson of Columbus, OH; nieces Ayanna (Lee) Bennett, Alysha (Blake Noble) Wilson, Crisiah Lester and Brooklyn Jemerison; nephews Donald Jemerison, Larry Wilson, Jr., Elijah Lester and Melik Lester, and sister-in-law Melissa Wilson, and a host of cousins and extended family. 

Dale worked primarily in construction and would often tinker with automobiles as a mechanic. As a teen he built a motor on blocks in the back yard, then connected a battery and started it up. He spent many of his adult years in Raleigh, NC before returning to WV. After becoming disabled from employment, Dale supplemented his incomes as a handyman for his neighbors in the Omar, WV area. The family has been blessed and immensely grateful for the kind words of comfort and support from friends and the community, especially from Dale’s friends in the Omar area. We take great comfort in knowing he was a blessing to others. As we cherish the many fond memories of our dear brother and uncle, we will miss him dearly.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 25th at 1:00 pm at Becco United Baptist Church in Amherstdale, WV. There will be no viewing as cremation was necessitated by the nature of death. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. Repass will follow the service.
