On Tuesday, May 10, 2022, Helen Logean Bias, 69 years old, of Sarah Ann, WV, received her divine healing and entered heaven where she was reunited with her daughter, Wendy, and her second parents Clifford and Olive Bias. Helen was born June 2, 1952, at Stirrat, WV to the late Grady and Emma (Runyon) May. Helen is preceded in death by her brothers, Ronald May, John T May, Dana May, and sister Edith Owsley, brother-in-law Glenn Bias and sister-in-law Pat Adkins.
Those left to cherish her memory are her high-school sweetheart and husband of 53 years, Edwin Bias and their special dog, Piper, daughters Missy (David) Fields of Knoxville, TN, Shawn Farmer (Larry Colley) of Omar, WV, and son Jody (Becky) Bias of Verdunville, WV, her grandchildren Haliegh Adams (Chad Curry) Hayden Adams (Kaitlyn Finley) Evan Farmer (Hannah Epperheart) Kimberly Fields, Marlee Fields and Lilyana Bias, her great-grandchildren Jayce Adams, Braylie Adams, Alex Smith, and Jayden Curry as well as two more babies on the way, her brother Leroy (Eloise) May of Conway, SC, brother-in-law Mark (MaryAnn) Bias of Abingdon, VA, sister-in-laws Donna (Les) Adkins of Henlawson, WV, Judy (Doug) Damron of Columbus, OH, Jill (Rick) Tacket of Switzer, and Robin Bias of Bristol, VA. Helen also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and a host of many friends.
She was a dedicated member of Stone Branch Church of God where her son pastors, and a former member of Switzer Church of God for many years where she & her husband were youth leaders, Sunday school teachers, and active in counseling many youth over the years.
She was a mighty prayer warrior and loved to worship the Lord. She loved to collect antiques and old stuff. She was a great friend to many and her smile & love for others was contagious. Most of all, she was an amazing mamaw and loved spending time with her family and sweetheart.
Pallbearers will include Mark Bias, Larry Colley, Hayden Adams, Evan Farmer, Kimberly Fields and Tammy Beth Adkins. Honorary pallbearers will be Rick Tacket and Jordan Preece.
Services will be held Saturday, May 14th, 2022, at 2pm at Collins Funeral Home in Switzer, WV with her son and pastor Jody Bias and brother-in-law Mark Bias officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Due to the families COVID-19 concerns, the family requests that everyone that attends Helen’s services, please wear a face mask for their safety and yours. The family thanks you for your cooperation in this.
