Idella Monroe

Idella Monroe 81, of Omar, departed this life Tuesday, August 01, 2017 in Dignity Hospice House of Chapmanville.  She was born March 01, 1936 in Birmingham, Alabama to the late Sam Williams and Maybelle (Tubbs) Williams.  She was a homemaker and a former member of the Mount Olive Church in Wilkinson.  In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by; Husband Willburn “Jelly” Monroe, two sisters; Ruth Lee  Wilson, and Bessie Lee Mixon , three sons; Jerome Birchfield, Danny Jo Birchfield and Kenneth Ray Birchfield.  Those left to cherish her memories are two sons; Perry Birchfield and James Carter Jr., four daughters; Miriam (William) Bradsher Jr., Vivian (Henry) Curry, Sandy (Jackie) Sherman and Jennifer (Nicholas) Jackson, Seventeen Grandchildren, with one special granddaughter; Kyra Wells and twenty-six Great Grandchildren.  Services will be Noon Friday, August 04, 2017 at The Original Glorious Church in Christ @ Whitman with Pastor Leroy Shaw and Bishop Rocine Jackson officiating.  Burial will follow in Guyan Memorial Gardens.  Visitation will be at 11:30 A.M. at the Church.  Pallbearers will be Peter Kelly, Peanut Hampton, Perry Birchfield, James Carter Jr., Mustasa Little, Nicholas Jackson, and Kareem Broadwater.
