James Lowell Blankenship

James Lowell Blankenship, 84 of Monaville, WV departed this life on Wednesday, April 10^th, 2024 at St.Marys Hospital in Huntington, WV. He was born on May 27^th, 1939, in Wharncliffe, WV to the late Ernest and Ellen Gibson Blankenship. He was preceded in death by two previous wives, Redith (York) Blankenship and Lois (Robinson) Blankenship; one son, James Ernest Blankenship; one bonus daughter, Jamie Donahoe Mullins; along with three brothers and one sister.

Those left to cherish his loving memory includes his wife, Carol Blankenship of thirty years; daughter, Melissa (Jerry Mitchell) Blankenship, Lois’ children, Charlie, Dale, Valerie, Jackie, and Carrol and their children; two bonus sons, Bo (Kayla) Donahoe of Charleston, SC, Kevin (Teresa) Donahoe of Monaville, WV; grandchildren, Buddy (Anita) Nickell of Logan, WV, Eric Donahoe of Huntington, WV, Kelli (Elmo Bell) Donahoe of Mill Creek, WV, Colten Donahoe of Monaville, WV; great grandchildren, Jaxton Bell, Amelia Nickell, and Jamison Bell.

Jim enjoyed his family, gardening, going to church, and loved to socialize. A beautiful and kind soul who lived a beautiful life and will be missed by so many. He was a heavy equipment operator for forty-five years. He loved to work and loved his job.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm Tuesday, April 16^th, 2024, at Switzer Church of God in Switzer, WV.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm Wednesday, April 17th, 2024 also at the church with Pastor Harold McMillen, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens in Chapmanville, WV. Pallbearers will include family and friends.
