Sunrise: February 20, 1954 – Sunset: November 3, 2019
James Curtis Floyd, 65 of Holden departed this life on Sunday, November 3, 2019. He was known to most as “Jimmy” or “Buddy”. James was born on February 20, 1954 to the late John and Viola Floyd. Those left to cherish his memories are his wife of 45 years, Teresa Floyd; one son, Curtis James Floyd; one brother, Willie Albert (Beverly) Bowling; three sisters, Lucy Bowling, Dorothy Harris, and Arlena (Wilton) Burton; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. He attended Holden Elementary School until completing with special achievement awards. He worked for the Board of Education as Lead Maintenance man for may years until he reached retirement. James was baptized at the age of eight years old at Mount Zion Church in Holden, WV, and once he moved to Whitman, he joined Morning Star Baptist Church with Pastor R.B. Miller. He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend to all who encountered him. He was a good and caring man who loved his family and life. A joker he was to so many people to make other’s laugh made his day. If there was something to be done, you could always call on Jimmy and he would be there rain or shine. He will be missed dearly and never forgotten. Rest in Peace. A homegoing celebration will be held 2:00 pm Friday, November 8th, 2019 at Collins Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Philemon H. Dillard Sr. officiating. A visitation will be held at 1:00 pm also on Friday. Collins Funeral Home of Switzer is assisting with arrangements. Condolences may be left at www.collinsfuneralhomewv.com
