James “Jimmy” Abshire born in Holden WV on March 23rd 1959, was surrounded by loved ones as he passed from this earth on June 4th, 2024 after a long battle with illness at Logan Regional Medical Center.
James was preceeded in death by a daughter Carrie Ann Abshire, mother Goldie (Vance) Abshire, Father James L. Abshire, grandparents Mose Vance, Mary (Baisden) Vance, Lewis & Iva (Johnson) Abshire, a very special uncle Hurl (Hogie) Vance, and a brotherly like cousin Ricky Hall.
Left to cherish his memory Jimmy is survived by two children, Jamie Lynn Turner of Logan WV. James Lewis & Prasith (Jenny) Abshire of Lowell Mass. Two stepchildren Melissa Eplin, William (Bubba) Eplin. Three grandchildren, Heidi, Zane, and Paxton. A great granddaughter Ariella, ex-wife and lifelong friend Donna Sargent, many nieces and nephews, and a dear friend Khloe Gollick, all of whom he loved deeply.
Jimmy is also survived by two brothers, Joseph & Jennifer Abshire of Dracut Mass., James Vance of Logan, WV. And a cousin who was like a brother James Cline of Lowell Mass.
Jimmy also held a special place in his heart for one of his dearest friends Richard (Jake) Jacobs.
He had a passion for fixing cars and drag racing motorcycles, but his true happiness came from helping those around him in any way he could.
Jimmy was and will remain a mentor and hero to all who knew him.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm Friday, June 7, 2024, at Collins Funeral Home Chapel.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, June 8, 2024, also at the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens in Chapmanville, WV.
