Jinks Adkins III

Jinks Adkins III, 39, of Logan, WV went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 18, 2022, in Charleston, WV. He was born on May 9, 1983, in Logan, WV to Kathy Adkins and the late Jinks Adkins II of Rossmore, WV.

 

He graduated from Mountaineer Challenge Academy and later attended Pierpont Technical College. Jinks was proud to have joined the United States Marine Corps and National Guard and was honored to have served. He was a strong and skilled worker throughout his life as a coal miner, contractor, mechanic, and correctional officer at Salem Correctional Center. Jinks was a dedicated and loving father to his children. He loved to help and witness to people about the Lord and the great things God has done. He enjoyed taking his family to church and loved them with all of his heart. He was a caring and dedicated friend to so many people and touched countless lives throughout his life.

 

He was preceded in death by his father Jinks Adkins Jr. of Rossmore, WV, grandparents; Freda and Albert Smith of Sarah Ann, WV and Jinks Adkins of Harts Creek, WV, three uncles; Denny Lee Smith and Albert Junior Smith of Rossmore, WV, and Buddy Adkins of Harts Creek, WV, three aunts; Ruth Ann Richards of West Logan, WV, Freda Bradley of Whitman, WV, and Sonya Smith of Rossmore, WV, four cousins; Trish Chafin of Logan, WV, Jason Richards of Logan, WV, Pete Turner of Sarah Ann, WV, Melinda Smith of Monaville, WV, and Jennifer Smith of Kentucky.

 

 

He is survived by his loving mother Kathy Adkins of Logan, WV, his daughters; Dixie and Pixie Adkins, their mother Crystal Squillace; sisters; Rachael Dean of Logan, WV, Debbie Vinson of Logan, WV, Drema Hodges of Cumming, GA, and Melissa  Dickinson of Streetsboro, OH; aunts, Carol McCauley of Salem, Wv, Lois Turner of Logan, WV, Geneva Adkins, and Christina Smith of Ethel, WV; uncles; Charles Smith of Ethel, WV, Eddie Turner of Logan, WV, Donald Adkins, Jimmy Richards, and Mike Barker of Monaville, WV; cousins, Pebbles Maynard of Salem, WV, Jimbo Richards of Charleston, WV, Shanda Nichole Smith of Radford, VA, Damian and Charles Albert Smith of Ethel, WV, Denny Smith Jr., Connie Lester, Angie, Kelly Richards, Ricky Bradley of Whitman, WV, Tabitha Nickell of Whitman, WV, and Richard Williams of Logan, WV.

 

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, September 26th, 2022, at Forest Lawn Cemetery with Pastor Gary Starr officiating. Pallbearers will include family and friends.

 

A visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm Sunday, September 25th, 2022, at Collins Funeral Home Chapel.
