Johnny Edward Thern, 64, of Cow Creek, WV. departed this life on Tuesday, February 2, 2021at his residence surrounded by his family and friends. He was born December 20, 1956, in Logan, WV. to the late Andy (Peachy) and Nona (Maynard) Thern. In addition to his family he was preceded in death by one sister; Hattie (Ralph) Charles, one Niece; Sandy Kay Charles and two grandchildren; Ethan Zane Mayhorn and Journey Faith Mayhorn.
He was a retired coal miner of 25 years and a devoted father and grandfather.
Those left to cherish his loving memory include his partner of 20 years, Brenda Bartram; two Daughters; Cynthia (Cindy) Kenny Williamson of Verdunvilloe, WV., Shannon (Donald Mayhorn) Thern Rowsey of Ohio; One Sister; Julia (Rickey) Pauley of Danville, WV., Six Grandchildren; Zachary Williamson, Caleb Williamson, Braxton Williamson, Grayson Williamson, Kenny Williamson II and Reagan Rowsey, Two Nieces; Tabitha Pauley, Rose Marie Sheppard; Great Niece; Syvada Workman and a host of great nieces and nephews. Special Friends Michael DeHart, Martin (Marty) Sada, Rodney Woodruff, Bill Click, Steve Kelly and Jonah Elkins Jr. One special friend Timmy Killen
Visitation will be held Tuesaday February 9. 2021 from 12:00 til 2:00 pm at Collins Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 pm with Pastor C.D. Wolford officiating.Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Kenny Williamson, Kenny Williamson II, Donald Mayhorn, John Workman, Steve Kelly and Jordan Sparks
