Keith Gregory Garretson, Jr. 69, of Port Charlotte, FL (formerly of Logan, WV) departed this life on Monday, December 25th, 2023.
He was born on June 12th, 1954 at Logan General Hospital and was the son of the late Keith and Dorothy (Hicks) Garretson of Logan, WV. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He also loved spending time with his precious fur babies.
He was a retired former business owner of Garretson Machine and Fabrication. During Keith’s lifetime, he made many special friends involved in the mining industry. Keith was a member of The First Church of Christ Chapmanville, WV.
Those left to cherish his memory includes his loving wife of thirty years, Kathy (Crum) Garretson; one sister, Linda (Terry) Sargent of Monaville, WV; one daughter, Jennifer (Cletis) Ellis of Port Charlotte, FL; one son, Brian (Julia) Garretson of Palmetto, FL; one step daughter, Crystal Kubow of Switzer, WV; three step sons, Donnie (Debbie) Kubow of Switzer, WV, Jimmy (Jennifer) Kubow of Ghent, WV, and Jason Kubow of Mosheim, TN; grandchildren, Scott (Leann) Ellis of Logan, WV, Nickolas Ellis of Port Charlotte, FL, Erin (Caleb) Deberry of Chauncey, WV, Alec Garretson of Switzer, WV, Hannah Runyon of Lyburn, WV, Joshua Runyon of Switzer, WV, Jacob and Jayden Kubow of Ghent, WV, Candice (Caleb) Vance of Switzer, WV, and Bruce (Chasity) Brewer of Switzer, WV; great grandchildren, Gracie and Emma Ellis of Logan, WV, Lacey Jo, Kolton, Kentleigh, and Keaton Brewer of Switzer, WV; and a host of nieces and nephews who meant the world to him.
A visitation will be held between 11:00 am to 1:00 pm Saturday, December 30th, 2023, at The First Church of Christ Chapmanville, WV with William Runyon, Jr. officiating.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm with burial service to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Pecks Mill, WV.
Pallbearers will include Brian Garretson, Cletis Ellis, Scott Ellis, Nickolas Ellis, Jacob Kubow, and Derrick Miller. Honorary pallbearers will include William Runyon, Jr., Benny Dixon, Jerry Price, Eric Campbell, Harold Cantrell, Terry Sargent, and Clyde Crum.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Collins Funeral Home, Inc. of Switzer, WV.
