It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved daughter, Kimberly, she was a shining light in our lives and will forever be remembered for her compassion, love, and how she left behind a legacy of kindness and strength. She was a wonderful mother who was always there when they needed her, the most offering support guidance and love in abundance. Her greatest love was spending time with her children and their friends. She always opened and welcomed her children’s friends into her home.
Kimberly Ann Propst, 49, of Wilkinson, WV departed this life on Monday, August 26, 2024, from her residence. She was born on September 29, 1974, in Cleveland, Ohio, a beautiful baby girl was born to John and Julie Propst.
She was preceded in death by her father, John David Propst; maternal grandparents, Verna, and Frank Pennington; paternal grandparents, John H., and Bobbie Jean Propst; one uncle, Michael Pennington; two aunts, Judy Ripalda, and Libby Pennington; father-in-law, Mike Smith.
She was a 1992 graduate of Logan High School where she was honorarium of her class. She was also a 1996 graduate of West Virginia Tech, receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. Following this accomplishment, Kimberly attended West Virginia University, receiving a Master’s Degree, and ultimately obtaining her Nurse Practitioner license. During her working years, Kimberly practiced at Logan Regional Medical Center and Thomas Memorial Emergency Room.
Those left to cherish her loving memory includes her mother, Julie Propst; two sons, Brandon Hill and Riley Smith; daughter, Alexis Hill; brother, Johnny (Shawn) Propst; special friend, Mike Smith; boyfriend, Bryan Marcum; nieces, Isabella Propst, Gabriella Propst, and Payton Butcher; two uncles, Lester (Brenda) Pennington and Roger Pennington; four aunts, Sherry Pennington, Gidget Propst, Debbie (David) Tupis, and Patty (Ronnie) Rakes; grandboys, Jaxxon Marcum, Mason Marcum, and Eli Bailey; mother-in-law, Joanne Smith; sister-in-law, Dana (Charles) Butcher; her doggies and cats, Piper, Posey, Percy, Oscar, Rosie, and baby kitty; special friends, Brandon and Alexis Hill, Father Anthony Hill; and a host of other family and friends who will all love and miss her.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, August 29, 2024, at Collins Funeral Home Chapel in Switzer, WV with Pastor Alvis Porter, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Pecks Mill, WV. Pallbearers will include her family and friends.
A visitation will be begin two hours prior to the funeral service at 12:00 pm.
