Lana Sue Chafin White transitioned from this physical world on Saturday, March 1, 2025, on her birthday. Born on March 1, 1965, in Logan County, West Virginia, Lana was the daughter of Kenneth and Leona Chafin. Lana was raised in Logan County and truly loved the area and its people. Her heart was big. She never met a stranger and loved all she came to know. Her many friends held such a special place in her heart. Growing up she loved to camp, fish, play softball and hang out with her family and friends. She graduated from Logan High School in 1983 where she was an excellent student; then in 1985, she married Carl White. Together Lana and Carl had two daughters, Lucinda, and Carlee, whom they loved with all their hearts. As an adult, Lana continued to love spending time with her friends. She loved politics, was an excellent cook, was artistic, and loved four wheeling.
Lana was preceded in death by her dad, Kenneth Chafin; her husband, Carl White; her brother, Minnis Kevin “Bo” Chafin; her uncle, Raymond Chafin; and a special cousin, Todd Chafin.
Left to mourn her loss are her mother, Leona Chafin, of Huntington, West Virginia; her siblings, Lora Chafin of Huntington, West Virginia; Kenneth Kemper Chafin, Jr. (Priscilla), of North Carolina; and Gina Kaye Chafin Wiley (Rob) of North Carolina; her daughters, Lucinda Nichole Elkins (Tom) of Cow Creek, West Virginia; Carlee Elizabeth White (Brian); the lights of her life, her grandchildren, Brock Isaac Baisden, Braxton Kole Baisden, and Bryson Colt Baisden, all of West Virginia; and Everlee Mae Cull; her first great grandchild whose arrival is expected in April; her dearly loved and longtime companion, Sammy Lane; a very special niece, Larissa Ann; special cousins, Roland ”Bodean” Spence and Jesse Daniel Williams; special friends, Gary McKinney, Ilean Gibson, Brittney Lovejoy and babies, Jaden, Aiden, Damian, Maci Kay, Brantley Blake, and Aubrey Faith, as well as a host of family and friends.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm Thursday, March 6, 2025, at Collins Funeral Home Chapel in Switzer, WV.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, March 7, 2025, at the funeral home chapel with Pastor Alvis Porter, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Pecks Mill, WV. Pallbearers will include family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Collins Funeral Home to cover the funeral expenses.
