Leonard Sparks

Leonard Sparks 69 of Wharncliffe,  passed away Thursday, October 29, 2015 from his home surrounded by his family and friends.
Born September 17, 1946 at Glen Alum, WV a son of the late Arthur H. and Opal M. McCoy Sparks. In addition to his parents he was proceeded in death by two siblings, Patricia Opal Sparks and Charlotte Sparks.
Leonard was a graduate of Gilbert High School, he was a disabled coal miner, a Vietnam Veteran, a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, great-grandfather, brother and friend. He was of The Church of Christ faith.
Survivors include his loving wife of 43 years, Sarah Sparks, Daughters: Sabrina Sparks and Crystal and Conrad Lester. Two Grandsons: Michael Taylor and Dustin and Jenny Lester, One Great-Granddaughter: Emily Lester, and another Great-Granddaughter due on Feb, 28th, Thirteen Brothers and Sisters: Norma and Harold Cagigas, Arthur Jr. and Melvis Sparks, Joann Cline, Virginia Braswell, Charles and Linda Sparks, Donnie and Terry Sparks, Maggie Trepasso, Kathy and Gary Hatfield, Barbara and Tony  Simpkins, Jackie and Eugene Vance, Susie and Mickey Christian, David and Karen Sparks and Gary and Tammy Sparks. Special family friend J.J. Hatfield and a host of Nieces and Nephews, followed by many other dear family members and friends.
He is gone from our sight but never  our heart.
Funeral services will be  2 P.M., November 3, 2015 at Collins Funeral Home  with the Minister. Gene Clemmons officiating, Visitation will be Monday, November 2, 2015 from 6 - 9 P.M. at Collins Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be: David Sparks, Garrett Cline, Tommy Lester, JJ Hatfield, Timmy Hatfield, Corey Sparks,  Oscar Keen and Gary Sparks.
