Mary Louise Hawkins, 71 of Sarah Ann, WV, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, May 1st, 2024 at her residence. She was born on June 24th, 1952 to the late George and Emma (Kennedy) Robison in Madison, WV.
Mary attended Marshall University where she graduated with honors with a bachelor’s in English Literature. She then furthered her education gaining a master’s degree with honors from West Virginia State. She was a school teacher from 1988-2014, and retired from Logan County Schools.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by three sisters and seven brothers.
Those left to cherish her memories are her loving husband of 54 years, James Everett Hawkins; two sons, James (Allison) Hawkins Jr. and Carl (Kim) Hawkins Sr.; one brother, Issac Robison; two sisters, Helen Goff and Alberta Rivera; four grandchildren, Carl (Aly) Hawkins Jr., Brittney (Justin) Barrett, Caitlyn (Donovan) Hawkins, and Jacob Elijah Hawkins; three great grandchildren, Aubrey Rose Barrett, Jax Hawkins, and Cade Hawkins.
A visitation will be held on Friday, May 3rd, 2024 from 6:00pm-9:00pm at Barnabus Freewill Baptist Church in Barnabus, WV.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 4th, 2024 at 1:00pm at the church with Pastor Shane Dennison and Reverend Jacob Trent officiating. Willa Trent will be singing.
Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens in Chapmanville, WV. Pallbearers will include James Hawkins Jr., Carl Hawkins Sr., Carl Hawkins Jr., Jacob Hawkins, Donovan McGhee, and Buddy Maynard.
