Mary Jones

Surrounded by her loving family, Mary Copley Jones, 86, of Chauncey went to be with the Lord Thursday, October 15th, 2015 at Trinity Health Care in Logan, WV. Born January 25, 1929, in Logan, WV she was the daughter of the late William and Hallie Browning Copley and the granddaughter of the late Lafe M. and Phoebe Hatfield Browning.  Mary was a homemaker and a faithful member of Walnut Grove Freewill Baptist Church in Chauncey, WV.  She was a former Sunday school teacher at Walnut Grove and former school bus driver for Beth Haven Christian School.  She enjoyed singing in church and at Trinity Healthcare, reading her Bible, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Jones and son Larry Paul Jones, as well as her three brothers Raymond, Lloyd, and Ralph Copley and three sisters Billie Copley, Louise Bailey, and Ruby Workman. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Melba Markell, son, Jerry Lee Jones and wife Pamela, their children Jeremy and Jerika Jones, and great-granddaughter Lexi Jones, as well as former daughter-in-law Rebecca Jones Miller and children Meredith Jones and Megan Jones McCloud and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends.   The Jones Family would like to say a special thanks to the staff of Trinity Healthcare for their years of love and dedicated care to Mary. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made in Mary’s memory to Trinity Healthcare 1000 West Park Avenue Logan, WV 25601. Friends may gather with the family from 11 AM until time of service at 1 PM on Monday, October 19th at Collins Funeral Home in Switzer, WV with Pastor Charles Blankenship officiating.  Graveside service will immediately follow at Highland Memory Gardens.
