Naomi Ruth (Sis) Mullins Surrounded by her family, Ruth entered the gates of Heaven on July 22, 2016 at her home in Yuma at the age of 90.
Ruth,, lovingly called Sis by four brothers, church family and many who knew her, she was born in Logan County to parents Bryan and Irene Vance at
Mona-Hill on August 4, 1925. She gave her life to the Lord at the age of 12 and became a member of the Mona-Hill Freewill Baptist Church on August
26, 1939. One of her favorite hymns was ''Let My Life Be a Light'' which for 78 years she faithfully lived according to St. Matthew Chapter 5. Ruth
enjoyed being a member of the visiting prayer group and Ladies Auxiliary at Mona-Hill FWB church. She especially loved the fellowship while quilting
weekly with her sisters in Christ. She was always ready to help with church plays, dinners, parades, and to sing in the choir or at funerals.
Ruth graduated from Logan High School in 1944, and began working for the Rossmore Company Store then later retiring in 1988 from the United
States Postal Service at Monaville after 20 years of service. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bryan and Irene Vance- one
brother, David Lee Vance- son, Larry David Mullins- husband, Harvey Mullins; grandchildren Jamie Lynn Mullins and George Gregory Mullins II-and her great grandson David Anthony Allen. Those left to cherish her memory are her brothers: Bill (Beulah) Vance of Whitman, Donald (Inice) Vance of Wilkinson, Jack (Charlotte) Vance of
Warrenton, Va., and Danny (Jeannie) Vance of Wilkinson; two sons, John (Debra) Mullins of Wilkinson, George (Rebecca) Mullins of Monaville, and
daughter Drema (Gregory) Bates of Wilkinson; grandchildren Billy Joe Mullins of Chapmanville, Chris Mullins and Kim Mullins of Charleston,
Stephen Mullins of Wilkinson, Carrie (Jess) Allen of Wayne, Justin (Jennifer) Bates of Cincinnati, OH; great-grandchildren Chey (Matt)
Bogner, Jodee Mullins, Daniel Allen, Levi Allen, Dylen Bates, Hannah Bates, and great-great- grandson Damien Bogner; Special caregivers Vicki Frye of Stollings
and Pat Mullins of Switzer, who helped care for her with Love and Compassion. Visitation will be Saturday 6-9 and services at 12 on Sunday at Mona- Hill Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Henry Damron and Rev. Joe Vance officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Collins Funeral Home is in charge of the
