Paul David Perdue

Paul David Perdue, 79 of Mudfork, WV departed this life on Wednesday, April 10th, 2024, at his residence surrounded by loved ones. He passed away after a long courageous battle of cancer and Alzheimer’s. 

He was born to the late Isom and Emerald (Davis) Perdue on July 23rd, 1944, in Logan, WV. 

Paul was a member of the UMWA Local 1440. He previously worked as a coal miner for Rebel Coal Company, a route salesman for Cole Bakery, and owner and operator of Perdue’s Grocery and Perdue’s Lounge. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Chad Isom Perdue and Paul David Perdue Jr.; one sister, Betty Francis Horton; five brother in laws, Earnest “Shot” Browning, Kenneth Browning, Billy Ray Browning, James “Arnold” Browning, and Curtis “Roger” Browning; and two sister in laws, Katherine Browning and Barbara “Sue” Browning Hale. 

Those left to cherish his memories includes his loving wife of forty-nine years, Toni Rose (Browning) Perdue; three sister in laws, Naomi “Peewee” Browning Hensley, Judy (Ray) Browning Stamper, Shirley Browning Tomblin; one brother in law, Ora Lee (Rhonda) Browning; three special nieces, Hollie (David) Lukacs, Tonya Marcum, and Shylah (Jordan) Maynard; two special nephews, Tony “Buster” Blair and Wayne Blair; two special great nieces whom he thought of as his grand babies, Mia and Maevery “little bit” Maynard; one special cousin, Barry Lee Adkins; a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends whom he loved dearly. 

A visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm Sunday, April 14^th, 2024, at Collins Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, April 15^th, 2024, also at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Carson Fanning officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens in Chapmanville, WV. Pallbearers will include family and friends. 

The family would like to give a special thanks to Chad and Olivia at Collins Funeral Home for the special treatment.
