Perdita (Carpenter) Collins, 82 of Chapmanville, WV went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Wednesday, December 22nd, 2021, at her residence. She was born on July 5th, 1939, in Logan, WV to the late Oda Van and Zeva (Baker) Carpenter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Collins; one sister, Marie Stevens; one brother-in-law, LeRoy Stevens; and one son in law, Monroe Ramey.
She was a faithful member for over fifty years and Morning Star Freewill Baptist Church.
Those left to cherish her loving memory includes six sons, Eugene (Rose) Shanklin, David (Robin) Collins, Ronny (Shawn) Collins, Mark (Rendie) Collins, Van (Mary) Collins, and Eddie Collins; three daughters, Georgia Ramey, Patty (Tommy) McNeely, and Bessie Collins; seventeen grandchildren, Matthew Collins, Tyler (Gabrielle) Collins, Summer Collins, Tasha (Dustin) Bonar, Rebecca Collins, Dakoda (Bree) Collins, Colby Collins, Miracle Collins, Canaan Collins, Aaliyah Collins, Arthur (Van) Shanklin, Kevin Shanklin, Tiffany (Austin) Bryant, Kenny Mounts, Bill Mounts, Madison Farley, and Haylee Farley; and seven great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held 1:00 pm Sunday, December 26th, 2021 at Morning Star Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Dick Workman and Pastor Billy Adkins officiating. Burial will follow in Barker Cemetery on Striker Fork Road. A visitation will be held two hours prior.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Shawn and Rendie Collins for taking such wonderful care of Perdita.
