Randy Burbage Curry, 58, of Verdunville and formerly of Cow Creek, WV, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on February 23rd, 2023. Born on December 23rd, 1964, to Mary Joeanita “Janie” Curry and Burbage Curry, he is preceded in death by his father, big brother Charles, sister-in-law, Barbara Ann, niece Rebecca Lynn, cherished dog Piper; and mother Janie, whom he devoted half his life caring for.
Randy earned his GED from Logan High School and graduated in 1984 with an Associates degree in Business Computer Programming at National Institute of Technology in Cross Lanes, WV and served as an EMT for 15 years.
Randy was always cheerful, and full of life. He always had a story and a joke to tell. His hobbies included family dinners and home renovations. He loved his family dearly, and always enjoyed being around large crowds, where he could always be found spreading laughter and joy.
Those left to cherish his memory include his best friend and big brother, Arthur Elwood Curry, sisters-in-law Gail (Arthur) Curry and Geraldine Williamson, whom he loved dearly and considered the sisters he never had; nieces Tammy Curry of Delbarton, WV, Tara (Chris) Evans of Chesapeake, OH and Shana Hughes of Delbarton, WV; great nieces Samantha (Marcus) Taylor of AR, Allison Curry of FL, and Alyssa Topping of OH; nephews, Rodney (Nelly) Curry of Sanford, FL, Aaron (Brittany) White of Verdunville, WV and Ryan (Kate) Hughes of Knoxville, TN; great nephews Rodney Curry Jr. of FL and Logan Topping of OH; dear friends Dan Willis, whom he considered a brother, and Seth Dingess of the home, dearly beloved dog Sadie, and ex-wife Athena Rodeheaver, whom he was married to for 25 years, as well as many extended family and friends whom he made laugh every day he was on this Earth.
Friends and family may visit the family from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm Thursday, March 2nd, 2023 at Collins Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, March 3rd, 2023 at the funeral home chapel with Pastor Denny Collins officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens in Godby, WV. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to Collins Funeral Home Inc. to assist with Randy’s services.
