Rebecca Ann Newsome

Rebecca Ann Newsome, 58 of Delbarton, WV departed this life on July 27th, 2021, at 5:28 PM at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on October 19th, 1962, in Ironton, Ohio to the late Harry Newsome Jr. and Georgie (Sheppard) Newsome. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Brittany Hicks; one great-granddaughter, Allison Hicks; one niece, Ann Young; and one sister, Penny Newsome.

Those left to cherish her loving memory includes one daughter, Lisa (Willie) Hicks of Delbarton, WV; one son, Kevin Johnson of Logan, WV; two grandsons, Derek Hicks of Omar, WV and Anthony Ward of Delbarton, WV; seven granddaughters, Jacqueline (Clark) Blankenship of Delbarton, WV, Catherine Hicks of Omar, WV, Julianna St. Clair of Omar, WV, Olivia Davis of Kermit, WV, Autumn Davis of Lenore, WV, Karli Ward of Lenore, WV, Emily Johnson of West Logan, WV; two great-grandsons, Jaxon Hicks of Delbarton, WV and Silas Chapman of Kermit, WV; three great-granddaughters, Rebeka Hicks of Delbarton, WV, Temperance Blankenship of Delbarton, WV; and Lindsey Ryan of Lewisburg, WV; one sister, Margie (Michael) Smith of Phico, WV; four brothers, Bob Newsome of Dingess, WV, Donald (Linda) Newsome of Breeden, WV, Dale (Loretta) Newsome of Dingess, WV, and David Newsome of Dingess, WV; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held 12:00 pm Saturday, July 31st, 2021, at Collins Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Pecks Mill, WV. Pallbearers will include family and friends. A visitation will be held an hour prior to the service.
