It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Rickey D. Hall of Switzer, WV (formally of Lowell, MA) who went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 18th, 2022, at Trinity Healthcare Services in Logan, WV, one week shy of his 68th birthday.
Rickey was born on August 25, 1954, in Omar, WV and was the cherished son of the late Wallace and Betty Hall. He was educated in the local school system.
Rickey is survived by his son, Shawn Hall of Switzer, WV; siblings, Diana Collette (Andrew), Marcella Groulx, Wendell Hall (Elaine), Drema Lozeau, and Trina Plourde (Joseph); as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins, including his cousin, Jimmy Abshire who was like a brother to him.
Rickey was an avid Elvis fan and as quite the entertainer. You could always count on him to break out in song, especially “If I Can Dream.” He was truly blessed to have a strong bond with lifelong friends who shared his love of football (Go Pats!), Tom Brady, golf, and playing his guitar, including Darrell Tomblin, Bobby Tomblin, Jimmy and Donetta Diamond, Chasity Meade, Oscar Frye, Irene Frye, Charles and Lisa Hopkins, Leslie Mileto, and the entire Tomblin Family. Nothing was more evident than your constant support of love, faith, and compassion as he fought his battle with cancer. He loved you all!
The family would like to thank Trinity Healthcare Services of Logan, WV for the outstanding care they provided. We especially want to thank Dr. Martin Codispoti and Debbie Dameron for all their assistance in getting Rickey the medical equipment needed to make him comfortable at home.
In addition to his parents, Rickey was pre-deceased by his aunts and uncles, James and Goldie Abshire, Dale and Thelma Abraham, Kessie and Hazel Hall; and his nephew, Jason Hall.
A memorial service for Rickey will be held at 5:00 pm Wednesday, August 24th, 2022 at Omar Community Church. Interment will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Chelmsford, MA at a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Collins Funeral Home Inc. of Switzer, WV.
