Sonya Barker

Sonya (Smith) Barker, 50 of Monaville, WV departed this life on Sunday, April 11th, 2021 at her residence. She was born to the late Albert Smith Jr. and Freda (Dean) Smith on January 11th, 1971 in Logan, WV. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her mother in law, Diane Salyers; father in law, Michael Barker; one brother, Denny Smith; one sister, Freda Bradley; grandfather, Albert Smith; one niece, Trish Chafin.

Those left to cherish her memories are her husband, Michael Barker; three sons, Richard (Angelica) Williams, John (Isabella) Barker, Justin (Kayla) Allen; three brothers, Charles (Christine) Smith, Albert Smith III, Pete Turner; three sisters, Carol (Tim) McCauley, Kathy Adkins, Lois (Eddie) Turner; one sister in law, Richie Renee Skibo; six grandchildren, and a host of family, friends, nieces, and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 17th, 2021 from 6:00-9:00pm at Collins Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service will held the following day on Sunday, April 18th, 2021 at 2:00pm with Rev. Gary Starr officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Shane Hall, Riley Evans, Michael Hall, Anthony Pelkey, Pete Turner, and Ricky Bradley.
