Tasha Nicole Lester, age 30 (born May 25, 1985) ascended to heaven on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at home surrounded by her family. Tasha is preceded in death by her grandmother, Ethel Mae Wilson, who adopted and raised Tasha; and her grandfather, Bennie Lee Wilson, Sr. Tasha is survived by her husband, Phillip Lester; children Elijah (8), Melik and Crissiah (2); mother, Rozelyn Wilson, brother, Donald Jemerson, Jr; uncles Bennie Wilson, Jr., Gary Wilson, Dana Wilson, Roger Wilson, Larry Wilson and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends. Tasha had a kind spirit and a sweet and humble soul. She was dedicated to her family and loved spending time with her children which helped serve as motivation to keep fighting against the odds. As she struggled through treatments Tasha would simply say “I want to live”, and live she did. Tasha met her future husband at the age of 16. She graduated from Man High School in 2003 and attended West Virginia State University studying criminal justice. She would return from college to marry Phillip with whom she produced three beautiful children. As a child Tasha absolutely loved watching reruns of I Love Lucy which is quite fitting as her personality and character was reminiscent of a simpler time when life did not seem so complex. Tasha also loved collecting show globes as if the serene worlds inside the protective domes took her places she dreamed of one day being. Tasha also grew to love stargazing and would often peer into the heavens for what seemed like hours on end. She worked as a home health caregiver for Pro Careers before becoming ill. Tasha will be sadly missed, but she would prefer we celebrate her life more than mourn her untimely passing.
