Terry Wayne Shearer

Terry Wayne Shearer, Logan, WV

January 31, 1959 – March 23, 2025

It is with heavy hearts and a whole lot of duct tape, that we say goodbye to Terry Wayne Shearer; a proud WV Coal Miner, member of the mine rescue team, avid fisherman, and a fixer of all things. He never ended a conversation without saying, “I’ll see ya in a day or two.”

When he wasn’t underground, you could find him deer hunting, fishing on the Greenbrier River, or in the garage tinkering with his Jeep.

Terry leaves behind his wife of thirty-three years, Mary Shearer; daughters, Ashley Fertig of Surfside Beach, SC, Brittany (Michael) Kinder of Myrtle Beach, SC, Nicole Barrett of Chesapeake, VA, and Jennifer Barrett of Logan, WV; grandchildren, Jenna, Jasmine, Dylan, Rex, Bella, Kyla, and Kennedy; one great grandchild, Ava, with another on the way; siblings, Allen (Angela) Shearer, Randy (Paulete) Shearer, and Betty Neghmouche.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Clyde Shearer, and Monna Skaggs.

A celebration of Terry’s life will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, March 28, 2025, at Collins Funeral Home Chapel. Friends may gather with the family one hour prior to the service.

Rest easy, Dad/Papaw Terry. We will, “talk to ya in a day or two!!”
