Vauntella Sue Carpenter

Vauntella Sue Carpenter, 73 of Cow Creek, Omar, WV went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Sunday, April 24^th, 2022, surrounded by her loving family at her residence. She was born on February 14^th, 1949, in Tamcliffe, WV to the late Amaziah and Margart (Chafin) McCoy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Henry Armstrong, Billy McCoy, and Ronald McCoy; and grand dog, Duke.

Sue was a beautician for five years. She was also a schoolteacher for Logan County Board of Education for eighteen years. Sue loved her family, church, church family, and traveling. Sue’s favorite place to visit was Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.

Those left to cherish her loving memory includes her husband of fifty-three years, Jimmie C. Carpenter (Married on April 7^th, 1969); two daughters, Alice Janean Carpenter of Smithfield, VA, Vicki Renee (Mardy) Carpenter Roberts of Rossmore, WV; three brothers, Jack Armstrong of Georgia, Kenneth McCoy of Man, WV, and Timothy McCoy of Georgia; two sisters, Betty Armstrong Timmons of Kentucky and Barbara Armstrong Christian of Verner, WV; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Richard) Scherer Warren of Smithfield, VA, Daniel (Autum) Faine of Omar, WV, Michael Scherer of Williamsburg, VA, and Ethan Miller of Omar, WV; great grandchildren, Daniel and Brody Warren of Smithfield, VA; her doggy, Chevy; grand doggies, Cyrus, Lilly Mae, Gucci, Dixie, Bandit, Buddy, Louis, Mercedes, Porche, Bandit, and Little Buddy; and grand cats, Jade and Boots.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, April 28^th, 2022, at Switzer Church of God with Pastor Harold McMillen Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens in Godby, WV. Pallbearers will include family and friends.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm Wednesday, April 27^th, 2022, also at the church.

She will be truly missed by her husband and her children.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Switzer Church of God.
