Violet Jean Messer

Violet Jean (Elkins) Messer 80, of Monaville departed this life Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at her residence.  She was born February 13, 1936 in Nolan, WV, to the Late Hewie and Rosie (Stepp)  Elkins.  She was a homemaker.  In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her grandparents, her husband; Roy Lee Messer, one daughter; Rose Marie Messer and several brothers and sisters.  Those left to cherish her memories are three sons; Thomas L. Duncan of Logan, Jerry G. Duncan of Rossmore and Frank Messer of Monaville, two daughters; Susan (Mickey) Webb of Monaville and Kathy (Mark) Keyser of Stollings, two brothers; John (Ruth) Elkins of Verdunville and Ricky Joe Elkins of Monaville, Fifteen Grandchildren, Eighteen Great-Grandchildren and Two Great-Great-Grandchildren.  In honoring Violet’s request, there will be a private family graveside service 11:00 A.M. Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Highland Memory Gardens, with her brother John Elkins speaking.  Pallbearers will be her grandsons.  Collins Funeral Home of Switzer is in charge of the arrangements.  Condolences may be left @ www.collinsfuneralhomewv.com./
